Mossad's pager operation: Inside Israel's penetration of Hezbollah
- pfdietz 2y agoAn Israeli once told my dad: "the difference between you and us is we don't have to love our enemies."
- weatherlite 2y agoWhat does it mean? Who loves their enemies?
- peutetre 2y agoJesus does: https://www.christianity.com/wiki/christian-life/what-does-it-mean-to-love-your-enemies.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/christian-life/what-does-i... https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/six_tips_for_loving_your_enemies https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/six_tips_for_l...

- weatherlite 2y agoOK I at least get the reference now so thanks for explaining. I do think that historically it's bullshit, Christians hate their enemies just like anyone else, but at least I get the reference.
- peutetre 2y agoNo, historically Jesus the man probably did say that and he probably did love his enemies.
- weatherlite 2y agoI like the probably you put in there. Yeah he probably did.
- peutetre 2y agoOf course "probably". I wasn't there. In all likelihood that's what he did say.
- weatherlite 2y agoLol ok
- jfengel 2y agoThat soldier apparently had a poor understanding of his own religion. (Assuming he was Jewish. There are Christians, Muslims, and others in the IDF). When Jesus said "Love your neighbor as yourself" he's quoting the Old Testament: Leviticus 19:18. It's not just a Christian thing. Both Jews and Christians have long had interpretations of "love" that included warfare. They're still enemies, and apparently "love" doesn't preclude killing them (sometimes explicitly under God's orders, in the Old Testament). But if that soldier thinks the "love" requirement is different from the one imposed on your (presumably Christian) father, that soldier is mistaken.
- lawls 2y agowar crimes, if you ask me
- pfdietz 2y agoHow so?
- raxxorraxor 2y agoNot even remotely. A war crime was shooting Israel with missiles for months and the way Israel responded was fine. No, it was even targeted and morally completely justifiable.
- dunekid 2y agoWar crimes are not what Zionists says it is. Rather it is what they do, and continuing to do so.
- weatherlite 2y agoI don't, and it's not.
