My boss is hiring interns/people without formal education to do embedded software. There is nothing interesting there - glueing (sometimes buggy) libraries together. Downloading Freertos’s port and writing some tasks is the most complex development. Nobody really cares if one knows all the processor registers inside out. It’s not sustainable career choice. Keep it as the hobby if you want some fun.
