- dannyobrien 2y agoI really do value services/tools that explain why you shouldn't use it, as well as why you should.
- jamal-kumar 2y agoIt's really humble and honest of them to put something like this up but in the end at least they have something to point to now if people pick it up and get mad that it doesn't meet their needs
- recursivedoubts 2y agowe also have this essay to help people decide when htmx (or hypermedia more broadly) might be a good fit: https://htmx.org/essays/when-to-use-hypermedia/ https://htmx.org/essays/when-to-use-hypermedia/ and then this tongue in cheek essay (many of the criticisms are legitimate): https://htmx.org/essays/htmx-sucks/ https://htmx.org/essays/htmx-sucks/ We also have a mug for people who don't like htmx: https://swag.htmx.org/products/htmx-sucks-mug https://swag.htmx.org/products/htmx-sucks-mug
- svat 2y agoYeah it's linked from https://htmx.org/essays/ https://htmx.org/essays/ under "On The Other Hand…"
- Ayesh 2y agoYeah, I expected a bit of a rant or sarcastic post, but I'm genuinely happy it's a good post with good points. I use htmx in a couple of my projects and it's been great! Posts like these give me more confident about using htmx because they seldom show where they excel and where they fall short.
