Are AI sex bots so profitable that it's the most efficient way of converting compute to money? What happened to crypto mining?
- ziddoap 2y ago>so profitable I mean, they're spending other people's money to run the services, so yeah it's profitable. Crypto-mining still exists, but is a fairly distinct from this particular flavor of cyber crime. Different requirements, different logistics, etc.
- 15155 2y agoCommercial cryptomining is less profitable today than in any period in the past. Monero, the favorite of botnets, has been dominated by overwhelmingly stolen, below-market-value compute.
