The film has too many media meta-narratives surrounding it. It was the subject of op-ed pieces before release. Critics invested their agendas into the film months and years ago. At this point I'm not convinced I can give it a fair viewing. My bias is to like it as a contrarian. It is normal to project your external experiences and expectations into fiction, but this is something else.
