Using Vercel and a laptop as a server, here is TeleText. A transcription of CNN, you can read it, and it transcribes lives what is talked upon the CNN.
Looking forward to changing to another TV Station.

- nimzoLarsen 2y agoVery cool, it’s a nice way of following the news without too much distraction. I can just glance at the screen every couple of minutes to read a section. Would you mind describing the process / tools for building this?
- lihaciudaniel 2y agoFirst foremost, the capability. Works only one TV stations I have my phone streaming payed app, many stations. Connecting to laptop using a double jack cable, the laptop is an old linux laptop with microphone port Now i did some magic to use the local chrome speech to text inbuilt, that doesn't consume using API, it rather wastes charging the laptop Tell me if you want the source code for the node.js project Note: if you use the service I'll make sure i don't close the laptop.

- yawnxyz 2y agoso cool! If you connect to a Cartesia text to speech news anchor voice, you could remake the news...
- kak3a 2y agoWould be nice to have translation for non-English audiences in real time. Granted not something can be done easily except using something like chatgpt
- zavertnik 2y agoCool project! This post also appears to be the second result on google when searching "vercel app" (as of +7 hours from your post), which I also found interesting.

- iamwpj 2y agoNice, I had a chuckle when in the middle of a discussion about some of Nixon's political experience had got stuck trying to decipher who "Kruse Jeff" was only to realize it was Krushchev. :D
- lihaciudaniel 2y agoSorry for that, it's an inbuilt speech to text. Whisper adapting would cost me a fortune
