- pas 2y agoI think it got rejected from there too. Based on this it only applied for permit there: https://www.maritimeoptima.com/maritime-news/troubled-ship-had-already-sailed-1600-nm-before-seeking-emergency-port https://www.maritimeoptima.com/maritime-news/troubled-ship-h... Then the PM announced that "no". https://www.maritimeoptima.com/maritime-news/potentially-explosive-cargo-loaded-ship-turned-away-again https://www.maritimeoptima.com/maritime-news/potentially-exp... See also "Ruby has previously been turned away by Norway, Sweden and Lithuania, as well as facing restrictions imposed by Denmark while crossing the Baltic Sea, because of her dangerous cargo." from this page: https://www.maritimeoptima.com/maritime-news/on-the-road-again https://www.maritimeoptima.com/maritime-news/on-the-road-aga... And based on this (see "last port calls" section): https://maritimeoptima.com/public/vessels/pages/imo:9626390/mmsi:229041000/RUBY.html https://maritimeoptima.com/public/vessels/pages/imo:9626390/... it went straight from Tromso to Tilbury
- pipo234 2y agoOf course, duh! You don't need to sail to the Baltic in order to be refused, there is this novelty called "radio" these days. In my imagination there's this ship going from harbour to harbour only to be sent away. The thought of asking first never came into my mind.
- pas 2y agoYeah, I had the same mental image. Ship limping to the habor, then flag dance or something, then sad ship noises. :)
