That's not quite true though, you can get a pretty well paid job in FAANG adjacent that leaves you with enough free time too. Living in expensive areas has a lot of cons too, a social life for instance, which you don't really have in a rural area. If that's not important to you, great, seems like you have it all figured it out, live on a small income in the middle of nowhere, but not everybody's dream looks like this
