"There are even some people who have a genuine intellectual interest in making money. This is distinct from mere greed. They just can't help noticing when something is mispriced, and can't help doing something about it. It's like a puzzle for them."

My net worth is less than USD 100,000 and I spend hours each week downloading market data, looking for trade ideas, writing scripts, running statistical tests, implementing trading strategies, and analyzing the results. I expect to be quite well off someday as a result of this hobby, but for now it's just an interest.
