"Featured" Chrome Extensions: Not Quite Featured
- nomilk 2y agoI like your approach of making lots of little extensions. I've found myself doing the same: - hunnit: makes google return 100 results [1] - youtube-global-speed: sets the default speed across all of youtube to 1.5 [2] - invidious-linker: links youtube videos to mirror sites (i.e. so there's no ads - not necessary while uBlock Origin still works, but good for future) [3] - odds-to-percentage-converter: converts betting odds to percentage win probabilities on political betting sites [4] With each little improvement using the web becomes a little less shitty. I will be using your 'HN - Saved You a Click' extension. Thank you :) [1] https://github.com/stevecondylios/hunnit https://github.com/stevecondylios/hunnit [2] https://github.com/stevecondylios/youtube-global-speed https://github.com/stevecondylios/youtube-global-speed [3] https://github.com/stevecondylios/invidious-linker https://github.com/stevecondylios/invidious-linker [4] https://github.com/stevecondylios/odds-to-percentage-converter https://github.com/stevecondylios/odds-to-percentage-convert...
- kwar13 2y agoThat's cool thanks! Our of curiosity why didn't you publish them to the store? I think all are publishable, maybe the YT one might give you some pushback.
- nomilk 2y agoI mostly made them for myself (and hackers like ourselves), but also presumed getting them on Google's store would be a nuisance. If you think otherwise, I might give it a go (maybe not the invidious one haha).
- kwar13 2y agoIt's a fairly straight forward process. You just upload a zip file of your extension and a screenshot of what it does + icons. Fill a short form and you're all set. I generally got mine approved within a day or so. The Featured tag also took only 2-3 days.
