Hope Gentoo alone won't get overburdened with the development and maintenance of such hybrid toolchain, to be able to compile and run time32 processes alongside time64. When everyone else has moved on. Better do a complete reinstall from stage3.
- account42 2y agoNot just dropping old stuff immediately when its no longer hip is one of the main strengths of Gentoo.
- rini17 2y agoOne needs to draw a line when it's too painful. There's a precedent - both symlinked and unsymlinked profiles exist and migration is fragile, sometimes you have to rebuild everything anyway. There could be time32 and time64 profiles like that as well, with former eventually deprecated.
