There is a lot of hype, but there is something real underneath and we haven't yet tapped its current potential to the fullest in terms of product integrations, etc.
- WJW 2y agoThere is more underneath this than was in eg blockchain or metaverse hype. But there is zero guarantee that OpenAI will be the one to eventually come out on top. If anything, the continuous drama they seem to be generating makes it less likely that they come on top vs one of the other big AI startups.
- ChicagoDave 2y agoThe value in GenAI will be in small, targeted models that align with a specific industry. No AGI is coming any time soon because LLMs are not the correct technology for it and no one has figured out what technology is required for AGI.
