- Liltechnomancer 2y agoI wasn’t really expecting this to be people’s first exposer to the drama. Should have added the backstory, but yeah there is a whole drama revolving around the WPConf.
- rideontime 2y agoThe florid, over-the-top language, tortured metaphors, and complete dearth of substance all reek of ChatGPT. And no mention of the extortion attempt documented in WPEngine's C&D, or the trademark terms that were changed today to try to justify it?
- Liltechnomancer 2y agoI wrote it before the terms were changed, and they provided very little in terms of proof of extortion. Just proof that he wanted something resolved before giving the talk. Extortion is a bold claim.
- rideontime 2y agoHe also sent the extortionate messages before the terms were changed. How is it exactly that paying a licensing fee to Automattic would resolve this situation?
