You'll own nothing and be happy- Jaguar Land Rover now offer a car subscription
- EwanToo 2y agoThis is just car leasing as far as I can tell? What's interesting about it?
- jamestimmins 2y agoIt looks like insurance is included in the price.
- shalmanese 2y agoIt seems even more flexible than a lease, you can pause and return the car at any time and get a new one when you unpause.
- dailykoder 2y agoI can't wait for house subscription
- kenferry 2y agoThat’s called renting.
- malikNF 2y agoSo... hertz for Jaguars?
- codeduck 2y agoVolvo has been offering this in Europe since at least 2022. As always, JLR is late to the party and far too expensive for what they offer.
- pewu 2y agoIt's called operational leasing and it's quite popular in Europe. Examples include: https://www.ayvens.com/en-pt/leasing-with-us/how-it-works/ https://www.ayvens.com/en-pt/leasing-with-us/how-it-works/ https://www.drivalia.cz/en/fleet-management-operational-leasing/ https://www.drivalia.cz/en/fleet-management-operational-leas... https://masterlease.pl/ https://masterlease.pl/ (sorry, only Polish, they don't have an English version).
- iancmceachern 2y agoOwning either of these makes is a subscription anyway. A guy in my building works for a Land Rover dealer and he says it's embarrassing. They're supposed to take you all over the earth but you'd never take them because they're always broken down. Buy a Ford or Toyota if you want to do any actual overlanding.
- codeduck 2y agoExactly. I'd love an old discovery, but I know that I'd never take it anywhere out of terror it would die along the way
- JSDevOps 2y agoIsn’t this great for the poor masses trying to show off? Landrover isn’t the brand it once was. It’s a failing brand.
- SebFender 2y agoFor certain brands this may actually be a win - you still have to manage the breakdowns in some ways though - time hassle etc...
