American giant cars and houses are kind of obscene and pointless. I realize others disagree, but as someone who has lived it I don't think the American lifestyle is aspirational.
- ta1243 2y agoThe American lifestyle certainly isn't, but compare Munich or Frankfurt or Berlin to Manchester or Leeds. Other European countries have their urban/rural problems - France has the Paris problem like the UK has the London problem, Germany has the East German town problem like Dresden and Leipzig, but Germany at least has Urban transport sorted. (Long distance is falling to bits mind)
- okasaki 2y agoEqually UK pseudo-adults in their 30s living in shoebox HMOs and spending an hour commuting on a shitty corona-bus for a trip that would take 10 minutes in a car isn't exactly great either.
