Does the writer believe the term "better solution" is an oxymoron? the problem with UI is that they are often not accessible by default. The solution is building a more accessible UI, or perhaps a better solution is building a more standard UI that will function more predictably with existing accessibility tools that people are using, such as screen readers, element selectors, macros. Solutions exist. Better solutions also exist! In my universe there is always such thing as a better solution. And as long as UI is a problem, design OUGHT TO BE problem solving.
