How about we start cryptographically signing recordings by devices as they are made? Using the security features of modern SoCs, we could give vetted apps access to record audio/video/photos and guarantee authenticity with manufacturers' signature. If we can get hardware encoders to interface with the hashing code, it might even be open to any camera app (as long as they store the feed unmodified, the hash matches). This limits an ability to edit (as cryptographic hash is invalidated) even for rightful purposes like cutting out irrelevant parts.
