starting seeds with a bin of potting medium that gets re-used. Occasionally a seed wont start when its supposed to but decides, sometime later, in the bin, that its time to grow. I've pulled 8in long seedlings out of the bin; it's sad. "Why didn't you grow when you were out in the light, in a pot? When you could have been something? Why did you try to grow here in the dark and dry where no one would see you until too late?"
