- cranberryturkey 2y agoCompany culture itself is a bullshit notion.
- chmod775 2y agoYes. The idea of socializing or bonding at work is bizarre to me. Work is for... working. The sooner I get that done the sooner I can leave and spend time with people I want to actually socialize with. Like sure, let's have a celebration or two a year, celebrate our achievements together and kick back on a dedicated day, but please for the love of god don't on a daily basis try to waste my time with things I'm not getting paid for - unless you want me to be on the clock while not actually doing work, because in that case sure, I'll oblige and still be out the door once the timer hits 8 hours. I'm more upset at the idea than any lived reality - at my current employer people are able to get work done, while still being pleasant to be around. Work is efficient, in scheduling allowances are made for people's actual lifes, nobody exceeds the 40 hour mark (I hardly ever break 30), and we like it that way.
