The history of exaequOS, the Web Computer
- baudaux 2y agoI started exaequOS two years ago. It is a Unix-like operating system fully running in a web browser. You will find all the steps from the creation til now
- ksaj 2y agoThis is pretty interesting. Is there a shell? I didn't see one, but since it has a local file system, it should be (?) doable. An oddity I noticed: It doesn't appear you can actually exit the About screen. You can minimize it, but can't shut it down like you can with vim, for example.
- baudaux 2y agoYes there is havoc, a Wayland terminal and there is bash. I will redesign the desktop to make it more intuitive
- ksaj 2y agoI tried it again, and still couldn't figure out how to get rid of the About screen once it has been run. What I additionally noticed, is that right clicking on its minimized form re-maximizes and gives the browser dropdown at the same time. I'm not sure if you can stop the browser part though. That might be out of your control.
- baudaux 2y agoYou can just minimize the´about’ at the moment. I will remove it since I created a landing page
- baudaux 2y ago/home is stored in localfs that is persistent in browser’s data
