- fakedang 2y agoI don't think he's going to be that successful on that front considering his background. The base of the Republican party is still very anti-Semitic except for matters pertaining to Israel, and even then for their own objectives. Can't count how many times I've heard of Jewish conspiracy theories from rank-and-file Repubs. Plus, the Repubs already have their own social media vagabond, and he's not one of "them".
- astroid 2y agoCalling out 'Republicans' as particularly anti-semitic is preposterous. I have no idea what Zuckerberg will or won't do in the future, but this statement is so absurdly loaded and divorced from reality it is a genuine shame the first post is likely going to stay the 'top post'. Maybe next time you want to throw baseless accusations and generalizations disparaging half the population, take a moment to look at 'your team' as well. Cause right now it's not exactly looking good. I say this as someone who is generally viewed as independent (Bernie, Ron Paul, RFK, Vivek etc. would be recent politicians I at least largely align with, although there is no one I fully agrree with or support.)
- fakedang 2y agoRepub politicians may be all for Israel and not anti-Semitic, but nearly every Republican base voter I've interacted with (and I employ a lot of blue-collar red-aligned voters) has alleged to a Jewish conspiracy controlling America's power structures. They aren't even the Bible thumping lot of the South but otherwise decent people from the Midwest. Oh, and they don't have a problem at all with my Israeli colleague who frequently works with them. It's the American Jews that rile them up.
