- kylehotchkiss 2y agoI was in the pilot for this last year. It was a nice and easy experience. No post office trip and done within 3 weeks without having to pay any rush fees.
- MissTake 2y agoI gave up on this method because the system rejected every single photo attempt, even though I met all the requirements. Ended up going to AAA for the photo and 10 minutes later at my local USPS my application was done. I quite honestly spent less time doing it the old fashioned way than I’d spent trying the new online method. Eventually I think this will be a useful method, but right now it was a real PITA for me.
- toomuchtodo 2y agoUSPS will take your photo (for a nominal cost), and if there are any problems with it, they will fix at no additional cost (for future reference). Luckily, a passport lasts 10 years once you're over 16, which gives a lot of time for process improvement between renewal cycles. Very sorry you had a challenge with this process, it should get better based on what I know of internal development.
