Hate to say it but Amazon was hiring the folks getting laid off from major banks a few years ago. They abandoned hiring only the best a long time ago.

"Hate to say it but Amazon was hiring the folks getting laid off from major banks a few years ago." or "[Amazon] abandoned hiring only the best a long time ago."? On top of that, many banks have a hiring bar for their software folks that's far, far lower than one would expect a company whose primary job is ensuring the correctness and integrity of its records to have. (Also: "profoundly" toxic and bigoted? *Seriously*?)
