wait, european offices don't even have assigned desks? it's all hotdesking?

  Surely you mean "agile desk arrangements"! (What a euphemism) That would actually put me off working for Amazon (though, I mean, there's a lot that would). I like working from an office, but I did _not_ like the hot-desking that I had to do post-pandemic because our office wasn't big enough (my employer eventually let people who come in frequently get assigned desks, and it's been a huge quality of life improvement).
