How is EU deciding that X (due to its revenue) is exempt from the DMA rules - which are about competition/data interoperability/data portability/limiting abuse of uses data - a power play/power grab/self-promotion trip?
Most privacy and rights organisations (EFF etc) mostly approve of the DMA/DSA aims.

- mytailorisrich 2y agoObviously the saga between the EU and X/Musk has been running for some time... And obviously the DMA is political, and specifically how it is used against this or that platform is political. The usual argument that there is nothing political or no further motive because "it's only the rules" is naive at best.

Are you suggesting that Twitter is being spared as a political act? Per the requirements of the act, which are made clear in the article, the DMA simply cannot apply to Twitter; it is too smol. (Possibly you're confusing it with the DSA, which absolutely does apply to Twitter? I'm not totally clear on what you're trying to say.)
