^L is still normal as a separator in Emacs Lisp code files!
- p_l 2y agoTECO (and thus Emacs) supported a commands like "read page" which turned into movement by page in Emacs, which is why ^L shows up in Emacs Lisp (and sometimes similar vintage code)
