I've known a lot of rich people and the reason to want to live forever is never to enjoy worldly possessions. It's always one of two reasons: 1. Control of whatever they have created to shepherd it into the future (sub category, my inheritors are going to fuck this up or only I can keep this following my vision, my inheritors probably won't destroy this but they will redirect it towards something I think is stupid) 2. They are smart enough to figure out they are just the software for the meat machine they are residing in and the meat machine is the old model that will get retired soon, which means the software will be shut off and deleted, which is way scarier than going to hell to many, so they want to avoid that outcome. It's never the pretty baubles they have collected over the years or the comfortable existence they are living.
