I'm just disputing the theory that people would find 3D printing-based workarounds if we completely banned the manufacture, sale and ownership of guns and ammo. I suspect that homemade ammo might provide a Darwin-style solution to its own problem.
- solidsnack9000 2y agoWhat does that have to do with the "deadliest" ammo versus other ammo?
- worstspotgain 2y agoAgain, I just meant that it'd be ridiculous to assume that 3D-printed guns and homemade ammo would present a risk anywhere near that of industrially-manufactured guns and ammo. It would also rule out things like the 2017 Vegas shooting.
- solidsnack9000 2y agoWell, what you said about "deadliest ammo" does not make much sense -- it really makes you sound like you don't know what you're talking about. Most of the deadliest shootings have been conducted with pretty ordinary ammunition.
- everforward 2y agoThat Darwin style solution is unlikely; home reloading is a thing, I’ve known a few people who did it because they wanted custom loads or just didn’t want to pay retail prices. One of them even melts and pours his own lead. Primers would probably be the difficult part for a home manufacturer if they were taken off the market.
