Over-commenting. Provides very important context to the next person, even to the point of including links to docs/SO answers/Jira cards. Modern IDEs can hide/shorten comments so it's not a UX issue.
- solardev 2y agoNot just the next person, but "myself a few months from now" too. I've definitely written my own share of wtf code that is inscrutable but for the comments... especially when it was some one-off workaround for someone else's one-off workaround for a commit three years ago...
