Show HN: Ailya – AI Chatbot with animated avatar and evolving user relationships
Ailya - first AI chatbot for Cybercogni project with animated avatar that expresses emotions, develops relationships, and reveals its thought process. Beta test available now.
- dabxy 2y agoHey HN! I'm excited to introduce Ailya, the first AI avatar for my Cybercogni project. I've just launched the beta version on the homepage, and I'd love for you to try it out and share your thoughts! Ailya is an experiment in creating more engaging AI interactions. Here's what makes her unique: 1) Animated Avatar: Ailya's avatar displays over 40 different emotions in real-time, reacting to the flow and context of your conversation. Note that you might experience some initial glitches or freezes, especially early in the conversation as your browser loads and caches the animations. These usually more smooth out as you continue interacting. 2) Evolving Relationships: Ailya develops relationship with each user over time. Her responses and emotional reactions adapt based on your interaction history, while maintaining her core personality. 3) Visible Thought Process: Ailya's internal monologue is revealed in the section below the chat ("Mind Spoilers"). This gives you a glimpse into her reasoning and emotional state. As this is a beta release, your feedback is crucial in shaping Ailya's future development. Here's what I'm particularly interested in: - How does chatting with an AI with an animated avatar compare to your experiences with traditional chatbots? - What are your thoughts on the "Mind Spoilers" feature? Does it add value to the interaction? - What potential applications do you see for this technology? (e.g., customer service, mental health support, education, entertainment) - Are you aware of similar solutions? How does Ailya compare? - What features or improvements would make Ailya more useful or interesting to you? - Did you encounter any bugs or unexpected behaviors? (I am sure there are some, working on it). - I'm open to collaboration and potentially seeking investment to take this project further. If you're interested in contributing your skills or resources, I'd love to hear from you. To chat with Ailya, simply visit https://cybercogni.com https://cybercogni.com - no login required for the beta test.
- whatnotests2 2y ago"You look lonely. I can fix that." I know it's a long way off, but each day that passes brings us closer to this. I imagine tools like this could be useful for spectrum disorder issues like recognizing emotional state, or improving conversational skills. Also, the kinds of emotional experiences we can have in the context of dialog with another person are difficult to achieve on our own, so therapeutic opportunities and interpersonal skills building could be valuable options there as well.
- dabxy 2y agoThanks for your comment! You're absolutely right - chatbots are already being used for therapeutic purposes. There’s evidence showing they can effectively assist with mental health through techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I think solutions similar to Ailya could potentially take this a step further by incorporating an animated emotional avatar.
