I wonder what the human-caused "accident" rate would be if we subtracted out the mayhem caused by fleeing felons. From the sounds of the article, it could be a significant factor. On the other hand, I suppose it won't be long until someone tries a robbery get-away using a Waymo, (or maybe a Tesla in self-driving mode), which I guess is an improvement.
