The author doesn't like being blasted by all of the ads on Fandom pages, but specifically says that he doesn't use an ad blocker. He explains that he has empathy for developers who apparently must blast their userbase with advertisements as well as regular ad-blockless users who suffer through the unwanted ads. What lunacy! It's astounding to me how often these bloggers will embrace and defend enshittification
Then again, I noticed thst my own ad blocker stopped over 40 elements from being loaded on his article, so I can't be surprised

He's empathizing with users that can't or don't know how to use adblock, not the web devs or web sites that fill their pages with intrusive ads.
