After watching the debate, the name-calling and lies were mostly one side. This article attempts to paint both candidates with the same brush. I don't think Aljazeera can be taken seriously when it comes to US politics.
- Qem 2y agoIt seems the author made an effort to report on the debate using the same condescending tone US media uses while reporting on African countries, or Asian "exotic" cultures, to hilarious effect, IMHO.
- defrost 2y agoIt's a guest article from a writer for The New Humanitarian https://www.thenewhumanitarian.org/ https://www.thenewhumanitarian.org/ The article paints the entire United States of America with the palette most frequently used when reporting on African and Global South nations. Anything that seems jarring and clumsy is intended to remind the reader that the same inaccurate and slanted takes are commonly used on others elsewhere. I've travelled a lot, I got a chuckle out of it.
