For a while we were being sold on CDs on a more permanent medium, such a M-disks. Assuming you store your own players, and have a convertor from USB to whatever exists in fifty years, is that a real solution?

Is that an ATAPI player? Does it have drivers for your OS? Does it contain perishable materials?

  It can be played back on a regular cd player, (though it needs a special writer)
