- reducesuffering 2y agoOh of course I remember being broke and living off $1 Taco Bell and McDonalds menu. But with a drink, that would've still been $5 in 2010, in the aftermath of the 2008 recession where people had much less money and businesses had to compete on dirt cheap pricing to attract business. In my area, workers were getting paid $9/hour where they're at $20/hour right now.
