This essentially looks like just a Peltier device with a fan attached. Would this actually work well, or is there some breakthrough technology involved here I have overlooked that makes it different than putting a fan inside one of those 12v car coolers?
- edelbitter 2y agoAdd "IR-permissively insulated", but yeah. Still worthwhile. That "oops 30 fold energy consumption per heat" problem deters people from testing the limits. It may be a mostly negative result for now, but it is still useful to actually build and try this every once in a while. Because with these numbers, sacrificing some interior design, comfort and flexibility does finally get you in the area of slashing your heat removal needs by an equivalent factor.
- notjulianjaynes 2y agoI agree worth pursuing. Presumably someone could just build one of these with off the shelf stuff (COTS if you prefer). No? Am I missing something?
