Japan and South Korea has their own "digital sovereignty" to a lesser extent too, given how dependent their users are on many local services run by (de facto) keiretsu/chaebols (YJ/LINE/Softbank/etc in Japan; Naver/Kakao/etc in South Korea) - though the trend is declining in Japan.
- hunglee2 2y agoyes quite right. Both require 'special casing' - I wonder whether it is language that is the critical factor, both the native level of English language fluency + the lack of foreigners not knowing Japanese / Korean.
