To me this seems to be a commercial posting. Is that allowed?
- danso 14y agoUh...aren't a lot of "Show HN: [my app/startup]" commercial postings in nature?
- georgemcbay 14y agoYes. But I have to admit I was disappointed to see this was just a marketing link for a book considering how much the title sounds like an article or tech blog post. I think the title could be a lot more clear that this is just a link to info about a commercial book and not a link to traditional web content, though in this case the title is so long I'm not sure how they could have conveyed that well.
- gcb 14y agoYep. looks like Spam to me. Smells like Spam to me. Flagged as Spam.
- eredmond 14y agoNot spam. Neither Jim nor I (Eric) posted this... I'm not sure who did. You need to check your sniffer ;)
- gcb 14y agoI call spam anything that is in my news feed but ask me to buy something instead of informing me. Sorry if you took it personally. Ironically, i wouldn't call spam if done by you (assume the authors) with the "show hn" shenanigans...
- tinco 14y agoWhy are you asking 'is this allowed'? This is a news website, not a board game.. You should be asking 'is this interesting to me or to other HN readers'. And in my opinion the answer is yes.
