- ycombinete 2y agoI definitely first heard John Cale’s version in Shrek. Until today I thought it was Rufus Wainright’s version. But for some reason the version in the film itself is Cale’s, and the version in the official soundtrack is Wainright’s!
- spondylosaurus 2y agoYou may appreciate this (not my post, just amusing to me): https://world.hey.com/horses/a-rant-about-the-gaslighting-bastard-that-is-the-official-shrek-soundtrack-6417d419 https://world.hey.com/horses/a-rant-about-the-gaslighting-ba...
- ycombinete 2y agoI did. I really appreciated that. It definitely mirrors, in hyperbole, my own sense of shock and irritation! It certainly says a lot that the Wainright version has 167,633,627 plays on Spotify, and Cale's has 3,823,629.
