Engineers Gave a Mushroom a Robot Body and Let It Run Wild
- marssaxman 2y agoIf this is just one-way communication - mushroom signals being used to drive motors in a robot - then this seems like a needlessly roundabout form of data visualization, which is not actually very interesting. The question I wish the article had asked would be this: how does the mushroom sense what the robot is doing? Can the mushroom actually control the robot - does it even know the robot is there? Or is the mushroom just doing whatever it would ordinarily do, oblivious to the suite of motors flailing about in response?
