- monkpit 2y agoReminds me of the Aphex face: http://www.bastwood.com/?page_id=10 http://www.bastwood.com/?page_id=10 Maybe he was inspired!
- wileydragonfly 2y agoMan, that is something I haven’t thought about in over two decades. I remember that circulating around early aughts internet. And I think there’s something to your theory.
- genewitch 2y agomaybe if the author swings by: The Doom 2016 soundtrack contained a spectrogram image; and with RF you can transmit images in the same fashion. I am ~80% sure that fldigi can do it, but if not, there's other open source software that can do it as well. And this isn't like hellschreiber, it looks like the spectrogram images on the RF spectrogram. The images don't "go" as far as dedicated digital modes but it's still kinda fun to mess with people in your area (like within 100 miles or so, depending on band, time of day, and E[i]RP).

- dpedu 2y agoThis website seems to break pinch-to-zoom in Chrome (on macOs). It just scrolls instead.
- stordoff 2y agoIt does the same on Windows, and scrolling feels weird/slow. I blocked www.centauri-dreams.org/wp-content/themes/Divi/js/smoothscroll.js with uBlock as a workaround.
- BizarroLand 2y agoMakes me think of Ultima: Worlds of Adventure 2: Martian Dreams, probably my second favorite Ultima Game https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima:_Worlds_of_Adventure_2:_Martian_Dreams https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima:_Worlds_of_Adventure_2:...
