Polar – An open source monetization platform for developers
- Reubend 2y agoWhat's the benefit of being open source for a centralized service like this? Or am I missing something? If the entire backend is closed source, which I assume that it would be for a merchant of record, then the frontend being open source doesn't really help much. But perhaps I don't understand their product. The landing page doesn't really clarify whether they wrap an existing service from another provider or handle everything themselves, and their docs mention payouts from Stripe.
