Imagine if every car had a different set of controls. Steering wheel, joysticks, rudder pedals, etc.. Used to be, the operating system controlled the title bars. You could see which window was active, and the behavior for moving, resizing, etc was consistent. Add in classic menus vs. ribbons vs. hamburger menus vs. whatever wet dream some UX expert has imagined. The inconsistencies in UIs are infuriating.
