One of the major criticisms of Canadian medical system (from doctors educated outside Canada and have gone through it) is how superficial and generic it is. It lacks the depth of its American counterparts which must familiarize with the ethnic specifics (for example, whites with Irish have different medical profile than whites with Ukranian background) where as Canadian system makes no such efforts.
One of the saddest most recent example that coincides with the surge of immigration from India was the Canadian medical system being DDOS'd essentially forcing MAID onto those that could've been absolutely saved had it not been for the long queue.
Nobody should have to wait for 10+ hours in emergency rooms to see a overworked doctor who makes mistakes.
Canada's selling point was a public healthcare system that simply is outdated and has to use private healthcare with the changing demographic and population surge.
If Canada can't even provide adequate universal healthcare with its hefty taxes, then what is it actually good for? We can't even own guns because using them in self defence gets your life ruined by the media. Entrepreneurs and best engineers all work for Americans.
There is a wide discontent with Canada but healthcare has been the biggest flashpoint for politics but I have no faith. For example, it took the American DOJ to identify and fine Canadian banks for money laundering.
