Again I read the comments and can't think of any place less optimistic or understanding of technology than Hackernews. Lot's of armchair critics thinking they know better than the guy who help built AlexNet. I should be surprised but I'm not anymore, just disapointed.
One of the smartest computer science researchers is taking a stab at the most important problem of our lifetimes, we should be cheering him on.

- stephenitis 2y agoThe sentiment and reaction to this is quite negative indeed. I think maybe it's because some people's Nvidia and stock holdings had a rough day... Seriously let's hope he builds a great team, gets the infrastructure he needs, and nails this!

- sensanaty 2y agoImportant to whom? I'd rather these billions go to literally anything else, rather than going straight into the pockets of already ultra-wealthy psychopaths.
