Somehow I think even if they believed that, the incentives are still to talk about AI, because it signals something to some kind of investor class, and the stock goes up. It’s pretty maddening, especially when it has the potential to hurt the fundamentals (sales / profits), but this seems to be the cognitive dissonance of the moment.
