    Apple holds the exclusive rights to sell applications and microtransactions to you via their app store. Frankly, they own a bunch of other rights over your use of "your" iPhone when you gave them up when clicking through their user agreements.

    Well, they certainly shouldn't and this needs to be legislated out of existence, but right now if you're an apple user that is literally what you are agreeing to. Apple's customer base in particular is exceptionally gullible.
