My partner and I visited a few years ago during the fall when my son was a few months old. It was beautiful, (and I'm partially red-green colour blind so couldn't fully appreciate the leaves' colours.) Coincidentally I recently discovered that an ancestor of mine, great or great-great- grandfather, declared his birthplace as Quechee, VT which we visited and where I proposed to my gf at Quechee Gorge.
