Ask HN: Are LLM hallucinations a reflection of human nature?

Many people, when they don't know something, will "hallucinate" an answer rather than admit they don't know it. Few times you'll get an "I don't know" If the Internet's training corpus of knowledge had more people admitting lack of knowledge, would the LLM be able to pick up this trait?
