How is this a win that the US enforces its laws beyond its borders? Why can't the US just mind its own business stay out of other countries? Have they found those weapons of mass destruction in Iraq yet? Team America World Police was supposed to be satire, not a guide.
Plus, it's just a passenger jet that's like the Honda Civic of the skies. They're making it sound like he stole some US weapon secrets the recovery of which was of national security importance.
Also, he didn't steal it, he paid for it. And Maduro is now just gonna buy another jet from somewhere else, so the real losers are his poor taxpayers who will be footing the bill again. Good job US.

- derelicta 2y agoI guess that's a weak-ass flex as not lose face considering the US oligarchs have failed to suspend the Constitution of Venezuela.
- southernplaces7 2y agoWhat the hell are you even talking about in your reference to U.S oligarchs failing to suspend the constitution of Venezuela?

- aguaviva 2y agoAlso, he didn't steal it, he paid for it. The charge isn't that he stole it, but that he violated export controls. I'm not sure of the details, but it seems to have to do with using shell companies to conceal the identity of the purchaser. As an aside: Maduro is a thug, and everything he buys is bought with stolen money. This is how rich people get their hands on stuff they're not supposed to have -- by making it look like they're just "buying" it. Through shell companies and other shenanigans. How is this a win that the US enforces its laws beyond its borders? I'm just as much an anti-imperialist, and critic of most of what the US does in the world as you are; probably even more so. But hey, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. And Maduro is an imperialist warmonger himself, remember. So if the seizure helps to clip Maduro's wings (and is in itself in accord with international law), I'd call that a win.
